Hugo S. Simões hails from a small island along the Mid-Atlantic ridge and came up through gigging around the Lisbon folk scene, sharing his songs one crowded basement at a time. It's between places that his solo work lies: with lyrics that merge anglophone traditions with his sensibility as a poet and writer.

In June 2025 he released his first single, To Keep Away the Blues. On March 28th, his second single, My Thoughts Know No Bounds, became available on all streaming platforms. An album is currently in the works.
